Tastes of Town & Country
You will be met in Colmenar at 1pm by Lynsey. You will have a short walking tour Colmenar, visiting shops to buy ingredients.
2pm – Menu del Diá – You will experience the Menu del Diá for lunch an historical tradition from ‘Franco’s’ time that lives on, allowing workers to eat a substantial meal at a reasonable cost. Often hectic and fast, with o menu to browse, just dishes hurriedly explained by waiters. Guaranteed unique experience and a great way to start your gourmet journey into rural, Spain.
After lunch, we will drive through the mountains to La Rosilla our beautiful rural hideaway.
Suitably refreshed and rested, it’s now time for our creations to begin. we will prepare and cook, local Paella / Arroz, learn the history of the famous dish so synonymous with Spain with all its regional variations.
♥ Evening meal to include, Paella & other local delicacies, Welcome cocktails & canapes, wine and soft drinks throughout your meal with fresh coffee to finish.
♥ Overnight at La Rosilla in private double room with traditional luxury ensuite.
Breakfast basket with local sweet and savoury treats, to be enjoyed on our terrace or dining room.
Morning at leisure, perhaps take a walk through the stunning countryside or sit, relax and take in the view.
12pm – Tour through the Montes de Malaga upwards to Comares. Stopping off at a local Venta (roadside inn, formerly mule stops) for refreshments.
Walking tour of the spectacular Moorish fortress town of Comares, perched like an eagles nest on a rocky outcrop.
Mid-afternoon return to La Rosilla, to prepare, learn and create a 4 course late lunch, early supper- sample sherries, local wines & olive oils.
Evening to relax and overnight at La Rosilla.
Breakfast at La Rosilla.
10 am ish ! Leave for Malaga.
Arrive in Malaga to commence on your private Tapas Tour.
This tapas tour is approx. 3 hours long and we will give you a good idea of where all the sites to see are in Malaga. During the tour, we will visit four of our favourite tapas bars (hidden away and used by locals).
Including will be two tapas and a drink (fino, manzanilla, house wine, beer or soft drink) at each venue and we will explain the menu and help you choose the house specialties or we will be happy to order for you, promise we know what’s best at each place!
Eight tapas normally makes a filling lunch but if you want to order anymore you can pay directly to the tapas bar.
We will say or ‘Adios y Hasta Luegos‘ after your tour, now you can enjoy the delights of the city, such as visit the Picasso museum, cathedral, the ancient Moorish baths, or take a gentle stroll to the Alcazaba.
